In agreement with Bible believing saints of the past, including the Waldenses, Ana-Baptists, Reformers, etc., we believe that the office of the Pope of Rome is the office of Antichrist and that in due time the FINAL Pope will be THE Antichrist, also identified as the second Beast in Revelation 13.

History demonstrates that before Roman Emperor Constantine the Great (pictured to your right) sat upon the papal chair of authority presiding over the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, there was never any "head of all Christian churches" accept for Jesus Christ as established in Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18, Colossians 2:17-19, etc.  But during that large, major church council the Church of Rome, and by application the Bishop (pastor) of the Church of Rome, was given the place of supremacy and authority above all other churches.

From that point forward, the Bishop of Rome began to claim and act upon the role first held by Constantine in the seat of authority over the churches.  Most histories, including "Christian histories", FAIL to document these facts as they also IGNORE the many thousands of churches and Christians who stood apart from this anti-Biblical travesty and were never under the authority of the apostate Church of Rome, although Rome began consistently claiming such authority.

As the Roman imperial power declined, the Roman Bishop assumed greater authority and began PERSECUTING the independent, autonomous churches that refused to bow to his unbiblical authority and Satanic usurpation of the place of Christ as Head of the churches.  At this point, the Pope and ever single Pope since has been rightly labelled as "Antichrist".

The fact that the office of the Pope is antichrist and every single Pope is AN antichrist must be understood properly to mean that there is yet one particular (final) Pope to come who will be THE Antichrist.  As John explains in  1 John 2:18, "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time."

It sounds strange and offensive to most Christians today to hear us simply repeat what MOST non-Romanist Christians have always believed up until this recent century.  But after listening to and viewing our studies on the matter, many now see the evidence and believe the reality.  It's not an opinion.  It's simply TRUE.
