Fulness of the Gentiles and Times of the Gentiles

One word makes a difference.  And things that are different are not the same.  There is a difference between “Fulness” and “Times”.

The Fulness of the Gentiles

We are introduced to the “Fulness of the Gentiles” in  Romans 11:25 (KJV)  where we read:

“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”

It is clear that this is a reference to an EVENT: the point in which “fulness” is reached.  And we are told that this is in reference to the body of Christ:

Ephesians 1:22-23 (KJV) “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”

The Church, from God’s perspective, are all those ordained unto eternal life.  When that LAST sinner is saved and baptized into the body (1 Corinthians 12:13) then the Church, which is the Body, will be full of those taken out of the world by God as James explained quoting Peter (referred to here as Simeon):

Acts 15:14 (KJV) “Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.”

So, God has been saving and will continue saving Gentiles (in addition to a remnant of Jews, as we are told in Romans 11:5), “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” (Ephesians 4:13 (KJV)

So, when we talk about “the fulness of the gentiles”, we are looking at a MOMENT (1 Corinthians 15:52) when the Body is complete.  And I personally believe that at that MOMENT, the Body will be Raptured.  The Fulness and the Rapture are not the same event, but will happen close to the same MOMENT.

We cannot know exactly WHEN this will happen.  But we should be ready:

Luke 12:40 (KJV) “Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.”

The Times of The Gentiles

The times of the Gentiles is not about an event but the end of a number of “times”.  This began when the gentile King Nebuchadnezzar overthrew the Kingdom of Judah and took control of Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 36:1-21).  These TIMES refer to the rule of prophesied kingdoms:

Daniel 2:32-34 (KJV) “This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.”

And we have seen all but ONE of these kingdoms come and go, as seen in this chart:

The first question some might ask is, “But Papal Rome has been around since 325 AD?”  True.  And that is why we know we are still IN the times of the Gentiles.  But before it ends, Papal Rome goes GLOBAL with the Pope at the head of the world government.

See our studies in Revelation 17 & 18 for a thorough study of this coming World Government under Mystery Babylon in Rome here:

Jesus said that this gentile trodding of Jerusalem will continue UNTIL the fulfillment of these times:

Luke 21:24 (KJV) “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.”

And this ends when Jesus Returns:

Daniel 2:44 (KJV) “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.”

Daniel 7:9-13 (KJV) “I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.”

Daniel 7:22-28 (KJV) “Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.”

Revelation 19:11-18 (KJV) “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.”
