“I Want To Be With My Friends In Hell”

“I Want To Be With My Friends In Hell”

Many people take the cute way out of considering the possibility of going to Hell. These “cute” folks say, “All my friends will be in Hell, so why would I want to go to Heaven?”

That joke might get laughs now, but no one will be laughing when they split Hell wide open and find out that the following Bible truths about Hell are REALITY:

1. Hell is actually TEMPORARY. You will be alone and in torment. (Luke 16:1-31)

2. When you die, you go to Hell to WAIT for the final Judgment. (Revelation 20:13)

3. This final judgment is called “The Great White Throne Judgment”. (Revelation 20:10-12)

4. At this judgment, all those awaiting final judgment are brought out of Hell and judged by Jesus. (Revelation 2:13-15)

5. In Matthew 8:12, 22:13 and 25:30, Jesus describes the eternal place of the damned as, “…outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Our description could go on and on. The Bible has much more to say about the subject of the abode of those who go to Hell. But from this short examination, one thing is for sure. Hell will not be a place where friends hang out and enjoy sin and rebellion for eternity. To the contrary, you will never see your friends again. There will be no beer, no women/men, no music, no card games, no concerts, no tail-gate parties, etc.

Please stop making light of this serious subject. No one likes a joke better than I do, but there are some things that just aren’t funny. And your eternal destiny is much too important.

Jesus loves you. He is your best friend (Proverbs 18:24) and offers eternal LIFE. With Jesus you actually WILL be with friends. You will enjoy eternity in the company of God, friends and angels.

Jesus paid for all of your sin so that you need not spend eternity in Hell paying for your own sin. He loves you enough to have died for you.

“What Does The Death of Jesus Have To Do With Me?”

hether you realize it or not, you are in TROUBLE. You have sinned. For this reason, you must DIE.

But God loves you and wants to SAVE you from this death penalty that you have earned. As a matter of fact, God came to earth as a Man (1 Timothy 3:16 kjv) for this very purpose! Romans 5:8 tells us that, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

And THAT is what the death of Jesus has to do with YOU.

Can I ask you an honest question? Can you imagine standing before God the Father knowing that He sent His Son to die for you, because He loves you, and having to own up to the fact that you REJECTED this wonderful act of love. Can you imagine that?

If you go on rejecting Jesus Christ, you will have to face His Father and the Bible says that He will check a book called “The Book of Life” for your name. If your name is not in that Book, you will have to pay for your OWN sin. This means that you will be cast into a Lake of Fire. That may not sound pleasant and you may not want to believe it but that’s what the Bible SAYS. Read it.

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15 kjv)

That’s what the death of Jesus has to do with you. It has everything to do with your eternal destiny. I urge you, plead with you, to accept what Jesus Christ has done for you. He has paid the debt in full and calls out to you today to turn to Him for eternal salvation.

“I’m Just Not the Religious Type

Have you given up on God or refused to give God a chance because you’re “just not the religious type”? Well, actually, that is the best answer a person can give.

You see, God doesn’t require “religion”. He requires a personal faith. And the only way that you can receive the righteousness that God accepts (the righteousness the comes from faith in Christ) is to “give up” and stop trying to attain righteousness through religion.

GOD Is Not The Religious Type!

God isn’t into religion. All that liturgy nonsense is man-made, repetitive, meaningless and vain. God never says a word about candles, icons, incense, chanting, stained-glass, steeples, mass, confession to another man, etc. It’s garbage. Complete vanity and ignorance. It makes people “feel” religious, but it’s a trap and in now way honors the God of the Bible.

Do you want to know God? Do you want to know that you are born again, saved, redeemed and going to Heaven? The first thing you need to do is understand that God did not event religion and is not asking you to become religious.

It’s About SIN, Not About Organized Religion

The second thing you must understand is that while it is NOT about religion, being a Christian is ABSOLUTELY all about the fact that you are a sinner and that you need forgiveness of your sin. You were conceived in sin. Psalm 51:5 (kjv) says, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

By your very nature, you are a wicked, lustful child of wrath. Ephesians 2:3 (kjv) says we, “were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

Watch the evening news. Look up the number of Americans serving time in prison or on probation for serious crime. Research the statistics on how many women will be raped or the number of men addicted to pornography. Read up on how many people cheat on spouses or simply engage in sex outside of marriage (fornication, homosexuality, etc.). Just do a little homework and you will find that you belong to a very depraved human race.

The fact is we’ve all sinned. Romans 3:23 (kjv), “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Every last one of us was born with a sinful nature. Our hearts are described by Jeremiah, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”. (Jeremiah 17:9 kjv) That’s every single one of us who are HUMAN. We’re all sinners. Therefore, we all need saved.

Only Jesus Saves

So, what can religion do to save you? Nothing.

You don’t need religion. You need Jesus. He can save you and He will, if you will simply and genuinely turn to Him and ask. The book of Hebrews says, “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them..” (Hebrews 7:25 kjv) Why? Because He loves you.

Jesus died on the Cross and paid the full payment for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2 (kjv) says, “2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

He was buried and rose again on the third day. If you will call on Jesus, believing in His death, burial and resurrection, trusting in what Jesus did to save you, then the Bible says that you “shall be saved”!

“Aren’t All Religions the Same?”

It is a popular idea today to say that “all paths lead to God.” You may be asking, “Aren’t all religions the same?”

The simple answer is, no.

Apply This Reasoning

Ask yourself a simple question. If you have a headache, should you go on chemotherapy and radiation treatments? Of course not. Unless you have cancer, such treatment would only do harm.

If you have acid indigestion, do you think that you should have a kidney removed? Absolutely NOT! Well, then why would you want to get “religion” to cure something that religion cannot cure at all?

You Have A Disease

The Bible says that our problem isn’t that we don’t have religion. It actually says that your problem is that you have sinned and that you are CURSED. Romans 3:23 (kjv) says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

You fall short of the glory of God, so God cannot allow you into Heaven. You have sinned and all of your sin is a violation of God’s law. God is holy and you violate His holiness every time you sin.

So you have a “disease” called Sin. Can religion cure this disease? No.

What is the cure?

Nothing But The Blood

The Bible says that our sin has earned the penalty of DEATH. Romans 6:23 (kjv) explains, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

It also plainly says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:20 kjv) So, the payment for sin is death.

That sounds pretty hopeless, but that is where Jesus comes into the picture and does something that no one else–no other religious figure–has done or ever could do. Jesus DIED in our place. He shed His blood and paid the death penalty on our behalf! “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 kjv)

Now, if you want cancer to go into remission then you have to follow doctor’s orders, right? Well, the same is true with sin. If you want sin to go into remission, you must follow GOD’S orders. And God says that without, “without shedding of blood is no remission..” (Hebrews 9:22 kjv) Whose blood?

Through the blood of Jesus, God the Father, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (Colossians 1:13-14 kjv)

What’s more, three days after being buried in a sealed tomb, He rose again! He proved He was God who had come in the flesh. He paid for sin and demonstrated His power over sin and death.

No Other Savior

The simple reason that all religions are not the same is because all other religions leave you to die in your sin! Muhammad died but he didn’t pay for anyone’s sin and he is still dead today. Buddha sought “enlightenment”, but left the question of sin unanswered in all of his religious teachings. The Hindu Vedas simply try to redefine “sin” and alleviate it by going into a state of denial that they call “higher consciousness”, but that is like standing before a Mack truck and thinking that it won’t hit you if you just THINK it won’t.

NEWS FLASH: You’re going to get run over!

Name the religion and think to yourself, “How does this religion take my sin guilt from me? How does this religion help me to know that I am right in the sight of a holy God?” The answer is simple. Apart from the full payment made by Jesus Christ, we have no hope of forgiveness of sin. If you die without Jesus, you die IN your sin and will be eternally separated from God and the place of eternal peace that He has prepared for you.

Don’t miss out by following religion. Follow Jesus to eternal life!

“I Was Baptized”

Baptism is a wonderful thing. We publicly proclaim our faith in Jesus Christ when we are baptized. As we are lowered into the water, we testify of our faith in His death as full payment for our sin. As we go under the water, we testify of our belief that He died a full, physical, bodily death and was placed into a sealed tomb. And as we are raised back up out of the water, we are testifying of our trust in His bodily resurrection as a guarantee that just as He raised His own body from the grave, He has the power to raise OUR bodies from the grave on that day of final resurrection!

But baptism is not a means to salvation. It is a response to being saved. Paul described it in Romans 6:4 this way, “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Baptism is a beginning act in your new life in Christ. But that new life does not come from getting wet in a baptismal, river, lake, etc. The new life comes by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross and His victory over sin and death at the empty tomb! Confusing these facts can be DETRIMENAL?

Getting the Cart Before the Horse What happens if you hook a horse up at the rear of a cart and the try to get the horse to move the cart forward? Nothing happens. The horses will look at you like you are dumb!

Well, so it is with baptism and salvation. Baptism is a wonderful testimony that salvation has taken place in the life of the new believer. But if you put baptism in place of simple faith, then you have the cart before the horse, so to speak, and you aren’t going anywhere with God.

Over and over again, baptism is presented as the response of those who were saved by believing the Gospel. Read the following texts and you will see this clearly:

Acts 2:38-41

Acts 8:13

Acts 8:36-38

Acts 9:3-18

Acts 10:44-48

These are just a few examples that could be given which demonstrate that you must believe and be born again in order to be saved, and that baptism is the correct response in obedience to Jesus, once you ARE saved.

Jesus made it clear that believing the Gospel is what saves and that baptism is a necessary confirmation. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned..” (Mark 16:15-16 kjv) It is clear that Jesus taught that baptism was necessary as confirmation of salvation, but that believing is what produces the new birth and brings about salvation in our lives.

Trust In Christ, Not In Religious Ceremony

So, the question is, “Did you believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and THEN follow the Lord’s commandment to be baptized as a public declaration of your faith? Or did you mistakenly enter into water baptism thinking that the very act of being baptized would save you?”

Of you got the cart before the horse, simply unhook the old horse and get things lined up properly. “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house..” (Acts 16:31 kjv)

“I Am A Church Member”

Do you believe that being a member of your church is going to get you into Heaven? Did you know that there isn’t a single verse of Scripture that even speaks of church membership? And not even a hint of the idea that church attendance or membership has anything at all to do with going to Heaven?

I am amazed at how many people seem to think that being a member of some church will help them get into Heaven. I was sharing John 3:7 (kjv) with a lady one day and quoted it saying,

“Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.”

Now, those are the words of Jesus Christ! Imagine my shock when she responded, “Oh, I don’t need that. I am a member of my church.”

I asked her and I would ask you the same thing: Can you show me where God ever said the church membership would get you into Heaven? And can you please explain the logic of rejecting the plain words of Jesus Christ and making up your own “way to Heaven”?

Church Members In Hell
The truth of the matter is, there will be many church members who go to Hell. In Matthew 7:21 (kjv), Jesus made a statement that seems shocking to the typical, religious person. He said,

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

So, what is the will of His Father which is in heaven?

“Ye must be born again.” (John 3:7 kjv)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  (John 3:16 kjv)

Look closely. God’s will is clear.

Also in Matthew 7, we see in verse 23 that some will even boast of casting out devils and doing mighty works in the name of Jesus and, yet, in verse 24 Jesus said,

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

These will obviously be “church members” but Jesus said they would be rejected. Why? Because they were not true believers, having been born again by faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

So, What Good Is Church Membership
As far as being saved, church membership is of no use whatsoever. Going to church doesn’t mean that you are a Christian any more than standing in a garage means that you are a car!

Yes, Christians go to church but not in order to BE a Christian. They go to church because they ARE Christians and they want to obey God’s command to attend regularly (Hebrews 10:25). The early church met every Sunday (the first day of the week) for worship, Bible study and fellowship (Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2) because Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1 and Mark 16:9).

But what made them Christians was BELIEVING the Gospel. As Acts 13:48 says,

“And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.”

They joined with Christians for local church meetings immediately afterward, but they were saved when they believed!  NOT when they assimilated with the believers in their city.

Are you a church member? Have you believed on the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and been born again? If not, your church membership is meaningless.

Trust Jesus
Repent of your sin, including your trust in church membership and turn with faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting fully in Him alone (not works of your own) for payment of your sin.

Then become an active participant in a local, Bible-believing church. Not in order to be saved, but because you ARE saved.

“I’m A Good Person”

Do you think that you are a good person? Did you know that this puts you in total disagreement with what God says on the subject?

No One Is Good
When asked, most people say, “I’m a good person. God wouldn’t send me to Hell.”

The problem with this statement is that it contradicts the plain words of Jesus Christ. In Mark 10:18 (kjv) we read, “And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. “

If you think you are good, then you either think Jesus was mistaken or you think that YOU are God!

None Righteous
Of course, there’s a bit of sarcasm in that last statement. I would certainly hope that you don’t think that you are smarter than Jesus Christ. And, for your sanity’s sake, I certainly would hope that you do not claim to be God. But those are the very real implications involved if you insist on proclaiming yourself to be a good person.

In fact, the Bible repeats over and over that you and I are not “good”. In Romans 3:10, Paul wrote, “There is none righteous, no, not one,” and in verse 12 of that same chapter he quotes the Psalms saying, “…there is none that doeth good, no, not one. “ (see Psalm 14:3 kjv).

The prophet Isaiah (64:6 kjv) says that, “our righteousness are as filthy rags.” The prophet Jeremiah (17:9 kjv) said, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Over and over, the Bible is clear. Man is not good!

Will you accept what God has said on the matter?

God Will Not Send You To Hell (Lake of Fire)
Whether or not a person ends up in Heaven or Hell has nothing to do with their ability to be “good”. Being good can’t get you into Heaven and being “bad” can’t send you to Hell. The reality is, a person’s eternal destiny relies on what they do or do NOT do with Jesus Christ.

Jesus said plainly that you must believe the He is the Son of God who came to die for your sins. In John 8:24 He clearly states, “if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” So, the question isn’t, “Are you a good person?” The question that must be answered is, “Will you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?”

The fact is, if a person ends up in the eternal Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15) it will be because he or she CHOSE to go there by choosing to reject Jesus Christ. God calls on us to “choose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19). We are told in James 1:21 to, “receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” So, what will you do?

Choose Christ
I urge you to make a heartfelt, sincere choice to receive the payment of Jesus Christ on the Cross as your hope for forgiveness of sins and to trust in the power of His resurrection as the guarantee that He will raise you up in the last day.

“I Don’t Believe That I Am A Sinner”

Many people reject the idea that they should be considered a “sinner”. Do you?

Well, the Bible makes the answer to this question plain by saying,

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23 kjv)

So, God’s word says that you and I and all other human beings are “sinners”.

Why is this?

Breaking The Law
The reason you and I are called “sinners” is because we are law breakers.

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” (1 John 3:4 kjv)

The Law is plainly given in the text of what the world knows as The Ten Commandments. We can read these in Exodus chapter 20. They include (condensed):

I. No other gods

II. No idols

III. No blasphemy

IV. Day of Rest

V. Obey Parents

VI. Do Not Murder

VII. Do Not Commit Adultery

VIII. Do Not Steal

IX. Do Not Lie

X. Do Not Covet

Have you ever told a lie? Even a small lie? That makes you a liar. This means you are a sinner.

How about stealing? Even something of little value? Cheated on a test or on TAXES? That would make you a thief! You’re a sinner.

Have you ever hated or lusted sexually after someone you are not married to? Jesus said that you would be a murderer in your heart and an adulterer in your heart. (Matthew 5:28) That means you are a sinner in the eyes of God.

Don’t Play Word Games With God
No honest person would look at God’s law and deny breaking at least one commandment. And the Bible says,

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10 kjv)

And that is something all of us must admit. We have broken God’s law. And I don’t know about you but I admit that I have broken MOST of the commandments many, many times!

This means that Romans 3:23 is true. You and I and all who ever lived, except One, are sinners. Who is the One who is not a sinner? Jesus Christ.

The Sinless Died For Sin
Jesus is the Son of God. He came as a human and lived a sinless life. Hebrews 4:15 says that he was tempted, yet He did not sin. He is the sinless Son of God.

However, when He died on the Cross He took all of my sin and all of your sin and the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2 kjv) In other words, God, “made him to be sin for us.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 kjv) So the One who never sinned was the only One who could pay for sins. So He became sin for us on that Cross and died. In so doing, He basically killed the effects of sin!

Why did He do this? John 3:16 says that it was because God loved us that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sin. Romans 5:8 says,

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

It’s all about love.

He was then laid in a tomb. His body was dead. But three days later, He arose. And He lives today! Will you repent and believe the Gospel, trusting in what Jesus has done for you? If you will, Jesus will raise your body from the grave and you will live forever!

“My Good Works Outweigh My Bad”

Do you believe that God is going to “weigh you in” in order to decide whether you get to enter Heaven? God says that it is,

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.” (Titus 3:5 kjv)

So do you believe God’s word or your own?

Is This Idea Logical?
The idea that we can do good works and cancel out our sins just doesn’t make sense. Did your parents operate on that idea? If you punched your brother or sister in the face, did your parent say, “Well, you are good more often than bad, so I won’t punish you for punching your sister in the nose.”

Think about it. Even in the case of something as small as a parking ticket. If you were to go to court and fight it, the judge would establish the evidence and then ask for your defense. If you looked at him and said, “Well Judge, I did violate the law. However, I have parked legally for 20 years. Before this ticket I had NEVER gotten a parking ticket! So, can’t you just let this slide?”

The judge will reply, “No.” He’ll pronounce you guilty, fine you and slam the gavel.

Why? Those accused of breaking the law are either convicted or acquitted based on the EVIDENCE of the crime, not on your past record. And if you would not expect an earthly judge to overlook a crime based on your other “good works”, why would you expect a holy God to do this on Judgment Day? Especially when He said He would NOT do this in His very Word that we have in our possession to read for ourselves today?

A Price Too High To Gamble With
What is most disturbing to me is that so many people seem to take their eternal destiny so lightly and are willing to gamble on their own ideas, rather than basing their faith in the Creator who authored the Holy Bible. The reader is free to gamble if he or she chooses. But I will no. And I cannot imagine that any sane person would do so. But they do.

How about you? Will you gamble your eternal soul on the idea of working your way to Heaven, when God says you will be sorely disappointed if you do? That is your choice. Trust your own works, or trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross as He paid the full price for sin. He was buried and three days later, arose from the grave in the same body in which He had died on the Cross.

Lay Aside Your Own Efforts
God loves you and died for you. Accept His love sacrifice on the Cross.  REPENT of your false belief.  Lay aside your love for your sins.  Turn away from that which damns your soul and turn to God with faith ONLY in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ to save you!

“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 20:21 kjv)

Jesus has the power to raise His own body from the grave and He can raise you in the last day, too. If you will put aside your own efforts at gaining salvation and trust only in His death, burial and resurrection then you will have eternal life.  If not, your love for your sin and unbelief will be revealed at the Judgment and the words of Jesus Christ will be confirmed:

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (John 3:19 kjv)

Saved From What?

” For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:17 kjv)

Maybe you have heard us Christians talk about being “saved” and you wonder, “Saved from WHAT?”

Well, I readily admit that Christians have some terms that almost make it sound like we are speaking a different language–some have called this Christianese! But if you’ll give me just a minute, I believe I can help you understand this matter of being “SAVED”.

To Make It Simple
If you were in a boat heading south and I was standing on the shore watching, do you think I should tell you that you are actually headed for a waterfall with a 200 feet drop and that you should come to shore and be SAVED from the fall?

That is exactly what a Christian means when he or she says, “I am SAVED.” Saved from what? Saved from the fall that lies ahead for each of us if we continue in the wrong direction that we are in without Jesus Christ.

That is why God calls on men to “repent”.  To repent is to have a change of mind that results in a change of action.  When you repent, you are no longer going to head down the path of sin, death and Hell but will now be headed toward God, righteousness and Heaven.

This is the message of the Apostle Paul to lost sinners:

“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 20:21

Why be saved?
The Bible says that you and I are born sinners.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23 kjv)

All of us are born into the same boat. Every single one of us has sinned. We have told lies, cheated, gossiped. Some of us have committed much more damaging sins such as violent crimes, sexual sin or have used God’s name in vain (you know, God’s last name is not Damn!!).

Without Jesus, we are on a boat that is heading for a huge fall. That fall is DEATH.

The Apostle Paul wrote,

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 kjv)

And this explains the choice that every man and woman who ever lives has to make. Choose death or life. When we choose life, we are choosing Christ Jesus our Lord and receiving His free gift of eternal life.

Lost But Oblivious
The Bible says that our condition is “LOST”. Jesus said that this was the very purpose of His coming:

“For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” (Matthew 18:11 kjv)

Sadly, most people do not even realize they are lost!

Think, again, of yourself on that boat. You are heading south and just enjoying the sound of the water, the breeze and the peace of the smooth journey that you are on. You are about to experience a 200 foot death drop but are totally OBLIVIOUS to that fact. In reality, you are lost and don’t even know it.

Now, do you think that as I stand on the shore and watch you float toward certain death I should wait for you to ask before I say anything!?!? Certainly NOT. The very fact that you are not aware of your need makes it that much more important for me to get your attention.

This may describe you today. Are you aware of your need? Do you know that you are heading toward certain death?

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 kjv)

Do you have a personal faith and relationship with Jesus Christ? Have you repented of your sin (changed your wrong direction in life) and called on Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

The Second Death
And it’s not just a physical death that you are heading toward if you will not repent toward God with faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ.  All men are appointed to die and be judged (see Hebrews 9:27).  And those who reject Jesus Christ face a death worse than just “ceasing to exist”.  This is called the SECOND DEATH in Scripture:

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8 kjv)

Some choose not to believe this is possible.  But that will not change the reality that IS.  Don’t die a fool.  Don’t PRETEND that you can make the rules.  Face our holy God with empty hands and receive His free pardon for your sins that can only come to those who willfully choose to believe on Jesus and trust in His shed blood as He died on the Cross and on the power of His resurrection over sin and death!

The Savior Who Saves
We call Jesus “Savior” for a reason. Why? Because only He can SAVE you.

Jesus can save you because He conquered the “Fall”. In our illustration, we are floating on a river toward a huge fall. In real life, that fall is death. And in real life, Jesus conquered DEATH!!

You see, all of us have sinned and earned the “wages” for our sin, which is death. But Jesus came and died in our place. He never sinned. He didn’t deserve or “earn” death. But as our God and Saviour, He died in our place. He is our Substitute.  He took our death penalty upon Himself and offers us eternal life IF we will receive the truth of what He has done for us and receive Jesus as our own, personal Savior and Lord.

An Invitation
Paul explains exactly how it is that we can be “saved” in his letter to the church at Rome. He said,

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ” (Romans 10:9-10 kjv)

Will you do that? Will you repent in your heart toward God and confess to Him in prayer and to others that you trust in His shed blood and believe that Jesus is Lord and is risen from the dead? By doing so, you are demonstrating that Jesus is now your Saviour!
